Enriching the kids of the community with the spirit of sports since 2009

About Us

What We Do

Outside the Ring Champions Foundation supports youth development through the use of sports  to improve the lives of children in the South Florida area.

Outside the Ring Champions Foundation provides children and families with an opportunity to understand, train, and enjoy all the aspects that build a healthy body and mind in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.

We seek to build spirit, mind and body through character-building activities that strengthen a child's sense of self-confidence, self-respect and responsibility.  We work hard in the community to give all our children the tools to become successful members of society utilizing cutting edge technology to advance their education.

 How We Do It

LitArt Learn

Each LitART Learn After School Literacy Series is a full year of curriculum comprised of eight thematic literacy notebooks. A LitART notebook provides step-by-step activity plans for 200 activities based on 16 picture books and three novels.

 Positive Action

Positive Action is an educational program featuring a series of scripted lessons, for each grade level Pre-K through 12th. The program is presented in a kit, which includes all the materials required for implementation. The lessons are scoped-and-sequenced, allowing schools to create a unified environment. No training is necessary and the lessons are easy to use. It works by teaching and reinforcing the intuitive philosophy that you feel good about yourself when you do positive actions. The program teaches the positive actions for the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional areas of the self. The philosophy is illustrated by the Thoughts-Actions-Feelings Circle where positive thoughts lead to positive actions, positive actions lead to positive feelings about yourself and positive feelings lead to more positive thoughts. With more than 2000 lessons across 22 products, imagine what Positive Action could do for your students.

After-school / summer camp program for children. It can be used as a stand-alone or in conjunction with the Commit 2B Fit® school-based program. Commit 2B Fit® complements and can enhance programs already in progress.

The Commit 2B Fit® Youth Journal is a nine-week journal that helps children set goals and track nutrition and activity. It is packed full of educational tips and information about physical activity and nutrition. The journal acts as a daily reminder for children to think about the amount of activity they are getting. And, it helps them keep track of how many fruits and veggies they've eaten and any other smart nutrition choices they make. This daily reinforcement helps create healthy habits that can lead to a longer, healthier life while helping students understand the relevance of the daily physical activity and healthy food provided at your after school / summer camp program. It creates a “total package” that will be meaningful for your children and will carry over long after they have left your program.

 PACER Fitnessgram (Assessment)

FitnessGram was developed more than 20 years ago by The Cooper Institute to enable physical educators to facilitate communicating fitness testing results to students and to parents.

FitnessGram helps achieve goals by applying easy-to-use technology to conduct fair and accurate fitness assessments and easily record the results, set individualized goals for students, give students responsibility for managing and recording their own activities, create detailed reports of progress and results for students, parents, and administrators help students and parents understand the value of physical activity.

Oral Reading Fluency (ORF) (Assessment)

In 2007, measurement of Oral Reading Fluency (ORF) was introduced to evaluate improvements in reading.  Similar to the DIBELS, this standardized, curriculum-based measure is designed to assess reading fluency in one minute.  ORF assessment, however, has extended the grade range to target students from pre-kindergarten up to 12th grade!  The ORF measure has been thoroughly researched and shown to be a reliable and valid indicator of reading proficiency.
